CHOICES RECOVERY PROGRAM
Rear 307 Laird Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702
570-408-9320

As the leading provider of addiction treatment services in all Northeastern Pennsylvania, CHOICES is strongly committed to bringing the very best and most effective treatment options to patients. In light of that dedication, CHOICES offers the region’s only methadone-to-abstinence program – CHOICES Recovery Program.

Modeled after the most effective national treatment programs, CHOICES Recovery Program offers people addicted to opiate a clear and proven method for facing their addiction with a very real possibility of regaining a normal opiate-free life.

Capable of treating as many as 140 clients, CHOICES Recovery Program dispenses methadone on an outpatient basis under the close supervision and guidance of a physician and other behavioral health specialists.

The physical addiction of opiate is notoriously difficult to quit. In fact, withdrawal side effects often include muscle aches, physical pain, stomach upset, headaches and severe mood swings. Such painful withdrawal often makes it impossible to quit without intervention.

Methadone is a chemical compound that acts like opiate in the brain, but produces no high for the user. For the opiate user, that means the body is satisfied by methadone – and the side effects are avoided. Users then can resume a degree of normalcy in their lives while they reduce the amounts of methadone they need until methadone becomes unnecessary.

With similar treatment facilities demonstrating success rates of near 90 percent, CHOICES Recovery Program endeavors to face the problem of opiate addiction head-on, with a proven method for treating a previously overlooked population in our community
