Posted: September 01, 2006
CHOICES Recovery Program--a service of Wyoming Valley Health Care System's Behavioral Health Services of Wyoming Valley--recently received accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)--the nation's oldest and largest standards setting and accrediting body in health care. The accreditation means that CHOICES Recovery Program meets or exceeds JCAHO's national standards for health care quality and safety.

CHOICES provides innovative inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient programs for individuals experiencing substance abuse problems. The CHOICES Recovery Program is the only facility in Northeastern Pennslvania treating opiate addicted individuals with Methadone, a medication proven to suppress narcotic withdrawal symptoms.

With a staff consisting of licensed physicians, professional counselors and nurses on site, the CHOICES Recovery Program has a maximum capacity to treat 155 patients.
